Electrics going berserk!
#1
I have an M49 Multispace and the electrics have started to go crazy. It initially did it intermittently possibly correlating with damp conditions, and I could rectify it by temporarily disconnecting the battery but now the instrument panel goes berserk as soon as I connect the battery even without key in ignition. It starts fine and the side/head lights work, but indicators not working, dials wildly moving around, panel lights flashing, buzzers going off, "STOP" flashing etc. From what I have read, its probably something to do with the BSI, but the one place I found info on resetting it turning on headlights after disconnecting and reconnecting battery didn't appear to do anything (manual locking). Any ideas other than taking it in and getting a new BSI fitted?

If yours does have a BSI im sure it depends on the year?

Check under the drivers side footwell somewhere behind the dash for the BSI and see if it has water damage.

Thanks for your reply. I have had a look and, to be honest, not really sure what I am looking for but I can confirm that the area around where all the fuses are is completely dry. Its a 2001 model.

A tired battery can cause weird electrical problems. How old is it?

It's possessed, contact the Vatican immediately. Are the stalks loose on your indicator/wiper switch ?
So where does this bit go then ?
