towbar fitting
#1
Just acquired a second hand removable towbar, it came with the wiring which looks like it will just plug into van. Do berlingos have a plug in loom ready for towbar wiring? If so where will it be? Can't find any info online so thought id ask here before I start pulling it in bits looking. Thanks

Not fitted one my self, but reading from here i think its on the left hand side of the boot aka passenger side of the car. Behind the left boot panel. search for tow bar on site, there is a number of pics showing.

Hi kesty and welcome to the forum

As has already been mentioned, the connections are behind the rear left side panel, but be aware that not all will have the connections fitted from the factory.
Mine is a 2010 110hp model and mine already had them.
Take the panel off and look for these three connections below.

To connect to the Citroen wiring loom, your towbar wiring would have come with a fusebox that looks like this

And the towbar wiring will have plugs on the end that look like this

The three connectors above are for a 13pin or 7+7pin (12N/12S), so for a single 7pin (12N) you won't have connector no.4

If you don't have the last two/three connectors and the fusebox, then you don't have the genuine Citroen towbar wiring and probably won't be able to connect your wiring to the existing connectors without some jiggery pokery

Thanks, founds a few things on here about it. But not really a clear answer, some say it has to be activated by Citroën once plugged in. Ill put that left hand panel off tomorrow, and get testers on plugs see if they're live. Cheers for your help

If the car has never had a towbar fitted, connector no.1 won't be live until a 40amp Maxi fuse is put in the engine compartment fusebox

Also, to activate it, you would need a Lexia/Diagbox or get a Citroen dealer to do it for you

If you know of someone with a Lexia/Diagbox, it is really easy to activate and I can give you pointers of where to go if you need it

for the towbar i fitted to my 2013 van it was very straightforward. removed the side panel to access the wiring, my 7 pin wiring kit had the relay. No need to get the system activated. Beeper sounds when you put indicators on when trailer attached
